Το "American in Paris" το φαβορί των Tony Awards

Με δώδεκα συνολικά υποψηφιότητες, το μιούζικαλ «An American in Paris» οδηγεί την κούρσα των φετινών Θεατρικών Βραβείων Τόνι (Tony Awards). Οι ηθοποιοί Μπρους Γουίλις και η Μαίρη Λουίζ Πάρκερ ανακοίνωσαν το μεσημέρι της Τρίτης, 28 Απριλίου, την πλήρη λίστα με τους υποψηφίους της 69ης τελετής, η οποία θα πραγματοποιηθεί 7 Ιουνίου στο Radio City Music Hall της Νέας Υόρκης.
Η μουσικοθεατρική παραγωγή του Μπρόντγουεϊ, που αποτελεί μεταφορά της ομώνυμης χολιγουντιανής ταινίας του 1951 με τον Τζιν Κέλι, δεν είναι όμως το μόνο φαβορί. Ακολουθεί το μιούζικαλ «Something Rotten!» με εννέα υποψηφιότητες και το θεατρικό έργο «The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time» με έξι συνολικά.
Μεταξύ των υποψηφίων για Τόνι καλύτερου ηθοποιού σε θεατρικό έργο είναι οι Μπράντλεϊ Κούπερ (The Elephant Man) και Μπιλ Νάι (Skylight), ενώ για το αντίστοιχο γυναικείο τα προγνωστικά επιβεβαιώθηκαν με τις Έλεν Μίρεν (The Audience) και Κάρεϊ Μάλιγκαν (Skylight) να θέτουν υποψηφιότητα.
